Candles are also blessed this weekend to commemorate Candlemas Day. This is to remind us that Jesus is the light of the world.

Baptisms in the Imeall Boirne Parishes: 

All Baptisms take place each Sunday of the Month at 12:30pm rotating between all nine churches.


People intending to have children baptised must complete the baptismal preparation course before each child is baptised. All forms for the above are

Imeall Boirne Pastoral Area Meeting The next Pastoral (Cluster) Meeting takes place on Thursday 7th February in St. Patricks Hall Corofin at 8:00pm. 
All Welcome.

Imeall Boirne Youth Gathering.On Friday nights, a group of secondary school youths from the Imeall Bourne Parishes gather in Ruan Community Centre from 7.30-9:00pm. They enjoy time together, meet new people of their own age group, and have ‘gadget free’ time, as phones are not allowed. One of their outings last year was to the R.N.L.I. Lifeboat Station in Galway, to see the valuable contribution of the volunteers to the service. The Club is based on the values of N.E.T. Ministries (www.netministty.ie). 
At Easter, every year, the group goes on a Surfing Retreat to Donegal, which all participants have found to be a very special time. All info from Mary Wynne or Ellen Jones.

“You Shall Be My Witness” Confirmation Programme for all Confirmation Candidates takes place this Sunday February 3rd from 7:00pm to 8:00pm, in St. Patrick’s Hall, Corofin. All Confirmation Candidates must attend each evening.
“Let pray to the Lord for the Confirmation Candidates that they may faithfully live the promises they will make, and share abundantly in the gifts of
the Holy Spirit” Amen.

Ruan and Dysart Apostolic Works Society The local Apostolic Works Society annual display of works will be held in Ruan Community Centre on Saturday 9th March after 8:00pm Mass and again on Sunday 10th March from 12:00 noon to 5:00pm. Anyone wishing to donate a sacred vessel please contact Eileen Roughan, Mary Marrinan or Eileen Hannon as soon as possible. Thank You

Community Area Based Plans From Leader. Leader are offering a community development planner to 20 communities.

This person will work with our community, if selected, to develop a 3 year progression plan encompassing our development in economic, social, environmental and culture. A meeting will take place to discuss this in Ruan Community Centre on Tuesday 29th next at 8:00pm. 

Anyone interested in the progression of our community are welcome to attend.
