Today is Divine Mercy Sunday. It was instituted by St. John Paul Ⅱ in May 2000. The message and devotion to Jesus as The Divine Mercy is based on the writings of Saint Faustina a Polish nun who died in 1938 aged thirty three years. The message of God's Divine Mercy is nothing new. The Church has always taught through Scripture and through tradition that God is merciful and that forgiveness is available for all sins. His mercy is much greater than any sin.
We ought to come before God humbly and with confidence in his Divine Mercy. We can say this prayer today; O fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us.

Toonagh School Parents Association  We are holding a clothes collection as a fundraiser after the Easter holidays on Thursday, April 15. Drop off times on that date are 9-10am, 1.45-3pm and 6.30-7.30pm. Should anyone wish to drop off bags outside of those times, Noreen Cummins may be contacted at 086 6030005 and she will make suitable arrangements to accommodate you

Traffic calming measures in Ruan Village. Members of the community had a meeting last month with Enda Mac Namara Senior Engineer with Clare County Council. Cllr Joe Killeen kindly attended the meeting on behalf of Cathal Crowe TD. Lucky at the time of the meeting traffic was busy in the village therefore all parties are fully in agreement that something needs to be done to make the village safer. The ball is now with Enda to get plans drawn up and hopefully funding issue will be addressed by Cathal and his team. It is hoped to get a pedestrian crossing, line markings, signage and possibly an electronic speed detection sign. Enda did mention that this process will take a few months but hopefully the outcome will benefit all in the community sooner rather than later
