'God, help me to be honest, so my children will learn honesty.

Help me to love, so that my children will be loving’.
(Marian Wright Edelman)

Workers’ Memorial Day Ireland on Tuesday 28th April 2015:  Remembering the past for a safe and healthy future. For everyone with an interest in the safety, health and welfare of people at work, April 28th is an important day.  It’s the date every year when trade unions, employer groups and individual organisations remember those who have been killed or injured in work-related accidents. In Ireland, in the 5 year period between 2010 and 2014, 253 people were killed in work-related accidents and many thousands more were badly injured.   Last year alone 56 people died, including 5 children.   These are shocking figures by any standards. We all agree that no job is worth someone’s life, but every year people are killed in foreseeable and preventable work-related accidents.

Details can be got from Fr Tom Ryan Shannon Pilgrimage Director for the Diocese on (061) 364133.

The annual Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock this year will take place on Sunday 5th July, sharing with Ferns as we have in previous years.
