Wedding Bells.
The wedding took place on Friday last in St. Mary's Church, Ruan of Gearoid Roughan, son of Tom and Eileen of Kilcross, Fountain and Michelle Glynn, daughter of Paul and Peggy of Ennis.  Fr. Pat O'Neill was celebrant, assisted by Fr. Tom O'Gorman of Cloughleigh, Chaplain to Cloughleigh School, where Gearoid is Deputy Principal.   Bestman was Patrick Roughan and groomsmen were Darragh and Brian Roughan, all brothers of the Groom.   Orla Parker, Michelle's sister, was Bridesmaid and her niece, Lucy Parker, was flowergirl.   
Gearoid's teammates from Ruan Hurling Club formed a Guard of Honour outside the Church after the ceremony.   
The couple held their reception in The Inn at Dromoland and, on return from honeymoon, will reside in Ennis.

All Ireland Fleadh.
There was local participation in the All Ireland Fleadh which was held in Sligo last week - Fergal Breen came 1st in Flute (15-18) and 2nd in Uileann Pipes in same age group;  Conor Arkins came 3rd in Fiddle Slow Airs (018);  Jamie Cantillon and Lisa Whelan are members of the Inis Og Ceili Band which came 3rd, (u12);  Holly and Eimear O'Loughlin were in the Crusheen Group which came 3rd, (u12) and Burren came 1st in Ceili Band (12-15) and (15-18).  
Tara Breen played with The Fiddlers of Dooney which featured past winners of the Fleadh, and there were many who travelled just to savour the great music, dancing and craic that the week offered.

Recent Death.
The death has taken place, recently,  in Limerick University Hospital of Donal Fitzgibbon, late of Ballygriffey, Ruan.  Donal had resided at Cahercalla Nursing Home for the past few years.  He worked for many years in Our Lady's Hospital, Ennis and while working there, he hurled with St. Joseph's hurling team.  
His remains were removed from Kennedy's Funeral Home to St. Tola's Church, Dysart and, following requiem Mass, he was laid to rest in Drumcliffe Graveyard.   Donal is survived by his brother, Michael.

Heritage Week.
Heritage Week starts next Sun. 24th, and one of the attractions is a guided walk and heritage trail will be held in Dysart O'Dea on Wed. 27th Aug. next from 7 to 8.30p.m.
