Wedding Bells.
 
The wedding took place on Saturday last of Niall, son of Christy and Pat O'Connor of Attyterilla, Ruan and Gillian, daughter of Tom and Bernie O'Connor of Burrencourt, Co. Tipperary, at the Church of the Assumption, Burncourt.  Celebrant was Fr. Pat Butler, assisted by Fr. Pat O'Neill.   Bridesmaids were Carmel Butler, Marina Butler and Valerie Walsh.   Groomsmen were Aidan and Ciaran O'Connor, brothers of the Groom and Johnathan Clohessy.  
Following the Ceremony, the happy couple were joined by family and friends at the Ballykisteen Hotel, where the reception was held.

Holiday in Lahinch.
 
Ruan Senior Citizens enjoyed their annual holiday in Lahinch recently.   This year the good weather was an added bonus and they made the best of it.  They also enjoyed the sing-songs and the session, where musicians from the parish entertained them on one of the nights during their stay.
 

Reunion in Toonagh Hall.
 
The O'Halloran clan, which originated in Rinroe, Kells, held a family reunion in Toonagh Hall on Saturday last.  The O'Hallorans from Killaloe, Doolin, and this parish, were joined by members from Athlone and Roscommon.  Over sixty people gathered and enjoyed an evening of music and singing, where young and old caught up with the families' news and had a very enjoyable evening with refreshments and good company.

Ruan Junior Hurling Championship campaign got off to a good start with a well deserved draw against Scariff, in Scariff, at the weekend.   
They now meet Sixmilebridge in the 2nd round of the competition this weekend.
 

Recent Death.
 
The death has occurred of Betty (Elizabeth) O'Looney (nee Hayes) of Rathclooney, Crusheen, a sister of Alfie Hayes of Toonagh.
 
      
Community Games.
 
The local Community Games committee held a Church  Gate collection recently and collected €259.  
The members appreciate the support of the community in their fundraising efforts.
