Fundraising Dance.
The local Resource Group has been busy over the summer on another phase of the works to bring Toonagh Hall up to a high standard. The kitchen has been painted and the timbers on the veranda have been replaced.
Mike Gardiner and his band with Noreen Ferns will play in the Hall on Saturday August 31 and the organizing committee is hoping for a great turnout on the night.

Recent Death.
The death took place recently of Breda Wilmott (née Galvin), peacefully, at her home in Keswick, Lake District, Cumbria. Breda was born and reared in Ranahan, Ruan and, as a young woman, like many young people of the time, she emigrated to England where she trained as a nurse in London. There she met and married her husband, Len, and they reared a family of three sons John, Paul and Eamon.
When Breda and Len retired they came to Larchill, near Ennis, where they lived for nearly twenty years, their home there having its own wind turbine, which was ahead of its time in the area and was an interesting topic of conversation.
When Len died his remains were interred in Kyle Cemetery, near Breda’s homeplace in Ranahan and on Thursday last, following requiem mass in Ruan, Breda’s remains were also laid to rest in Kyle. She is survived by her sons and their families, her brother Ger Galvin, nephews, nieces and friends.

Lay Led Liturgy
A lay led Liturgy will be held in St. Tola’s Church, Dysart at 10am on this Sunday, August 11.

Camogie.
The amalgamation of Ruan/Crusheen/ Corofin played Broadford/Parteen in the u18B Shield Final in Fr. McNamara Park on Monday evening. Despite the girls showing great determination, they were beaten by the opposition, ending the season of hard work and dedication they and their mentors have put in to reach the final.
The Liberty Insurance All Ireland semi final will take place in Cusack Park on Saturday, Aug. 10, when Clare takes on Kerry. Our Club members, Louise and Claire McDonnell, Niamh Lyons and Rebecca Crowe and the Clare panel are wished well in the game.
