Regular exercise is important for physical and mental health, and being physically active can help you to continue doing the things you enjoy and stay independent as you age. Exercise can reduce the risk of developing some age-related diseases and disabilities. People with arthritis, heart disease or diabetes benefit from regular physical activity and exercise can also help people with blood pressure, balance problems or difficulty walking. All are welcome to come.

Thought for the week

May God give you;

For every storm, a rainbow, For every tear, a smile,

For every care, a promise, And a blessing in each trial.

For every problem life sends - A faithful friend to share,

For every sigh, a sweet song And an answer for each prayer.

(An Irish Prayer)

Justice and Peace:   Perhaps the following little excerpt from Pope Francis letter for the XLIX World day of peace might inspire some encouragement and nurture some good will, especially in areas of our Diocese affected so badly by flooding.....  In looking ahead to the new year, I wish to encourage everyone not to lose hope in our human ability to conquer evil and to combat resignation and indifference; to demonstrate our capacity to show solidarity and to rise above self-interest, apathy and indifference in the face of critical situations.  Food for thought from Pope Francis....

Readers and Eucharistic Ministers:  We would welcome and encourage more people, both young and older, to have an active part in the celebration of the Eucharist as readers or Eucharist Ministers.
New lists of  Readers and Eucharistic Ministers for 2016 are being compiled and if you would like to be added to the list please give your name to either Mary O’Donnell 087 9776583 or Rosemary Foudy 0870610212 or to Fr Pat O’Neill - 086 2612124.
