Killaloe Diocesan Plan for the Imeall Bóirne parishes will be launched by Bishop Kieran O’Reilly on Friday 17th January in Ruan Church at 7.00 pm. inviting, in particular, all Confirmation Children and their parents and all pastoral Council Members. All are welcome to attend.

 

Local History Group: The local history group will resume on Thursday 16th January at 8 o’clock in Morty’s bar.  Mary O’Halloran from Dysart will be in attendance.  Mary is a keen historian and is very knowledgeable about the local area so it promises to be a very interesting and informative meeting.  All are welcome.

Toonagh Hall Closed Down:  Due to recent storm damage, the entire complex, comprising the Old School, kitchen, hall, games hall and handball alley is now closed down.   Nobody has permission to use any of these facilities, until renovation work is complete.  The tendering process is in progress, with a closing date of 5 pm on Wed. 15th Jan. next.  The community will be kept appraised of what is going on through this newsletter

The Special Olympics Ireland Games 2014 are coming to Limerick and the surrounding areas this summer.  The Games open on Thursday 12th of June and close on Sunday the 15th. In order for the Games to be a success, we require the support of 3,000 volunteers. To volunteer today, go to www.specialolympics.ie and commence the application process. We hope you will consider signing up to volunteer at the 2014 Ireland Games to make them a memorable one for all involved.

Ruan Gaa News

Ruan Minor Club:  There will be a medal presentation function in Ruan Community Centre on this Saturday night, January 18 at 7.30 pm for our Under 14 B County Champions. Special guests on the night will be Cian Dillon and Killian Ryan. Refreshments served afterwards.
