The final Report of the Commission for
Mother and Baby Homes was
published last week. It is sad and
harrowing reading. My heart goes out
to the survivors. It is a dark time for all
affected, reflecting on the sad
reality of abuse in our Church. A full and unreserved apology has been
issued and the full text of that and
response to the report is available on
www.killaloediocese.ie/responsetomother-and-baby-home-report/.

Imeall Bóirne Parishes Christmas Food Appeal 2020.
We had a fantastic response to our recent Christmas Food Appeal - the generosity of our parishioners was evident once again.
We would like to express our great appreciation to people all over the Imeall Boirne Pastoral Area for their generosity in responding
to our first Food Appeal. The response was extraordinary. Your donations were boxed into hampers and distributed to several local
families who appreciated some extra help, also to Clare Haven Services, Clarecare, Irish Red Cross, North Clare Mental Health
Services, Community Garda Policing Units in Ennis and Ennistymon. Special thanks also to our collection points in XL Ruan, Centra
Corofin, Clarkes Crusheen and our local schools who also assisted with the collection. To Community Gardaí Lorraine Higgins and
Deirdre Scanlon and to all who helped deliver the food hampers. Thank you everyone for showing the true spirit of Christmas, and
bringing some happiness to families and organisations who are less well off than we are. Fr. Pat, Fr. Damien & Anne Samaritans Ennis and Clare are currently
recruiting new volunteers.

measures are put in place in an attempt to
prevent the further spread of COVID-19. Our thoughts are with the many people for whom
this will be exceptionally difficult, the lonely,
vulnerable, elderly, young people, those working
in our hospitals, those who have lost loved ones
and those separated so cruelly from their loved
ones by this invisible enemy. We will get through this together! Signed Mass Cards are available from Anne in the Imeall Boirne Office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Also from Fr. Damien & Fr.Pat Ruan Hurling Club: We would like to extend its
sympathy to the following families: The O’ Reilly Family Rath, on the death of Pat Liddy, The McGrath Family Dysart on the death of Josephine McGrath, The Leahy Family, Cork on their recent bereavement. |
