Sunday 3rd February is the Feast of St Blaise. Blessing of throats will take place after Mass in both Churches.

Ruan National School: Please be advised that the postponed talk on Internet Safety has been re- scheduled as follows: Internet Safety:  Ruan NS hosts a talk on 'Internet Safety' on Thursday 31st January 2013 @ 7:30 pm. Speaker on the night is Dr. Maureen Griffin (Forensic Psychologist and founder of Ireland's leading Internet Safety firm). This talk is particularly suitable to parents of Primary and Secondary school children

Ennis Mental Health Association: Sincere thanks to all who contributed so generously to our Church Gate Collection on Sun 13th Jan. All monies collected are used to improve the welfare and therapeutic environment for people with mental health needs.

Healing Mass and Candle Ceremony to celebrate World Cancer Day in Kilnamona Church at 1 pm Saturday 2nd of February.  Professor Frank Sullivan (Radiation Oncologist) will attend Clare Cancer Support Centre, Kilnamona at 11 am before the mass. Contact 087 691 2396 for more details.

The Alzheimer Society's Dementia Specific Day Care Centre in Ennis currently has vacancies for clients.  Specialist Activity Programme tailored towards clients interests, skills, experiences and personalities.  Cost €7 per day.  Meals provided.  Bus picks up and drops off where possible.  For information contact Linda Murphy, 087915215

Craft classes: The crochet, knitting and embroidery classes return to Toonagh Hall on Wed 30th Jan at 7.30 pm and continue through the spring, €5 per night.  Anyone interested in picking up any of these crafts, or expanding the knowledge they have of them, is invited to the hall, where those with experience will pass on their tips and help those willing to try their hand at any of those crafts. Lavender & Kay’s 15th Annual coffee day takes place on Fri 8th Feb from 10 am to 10 pm at 23 Main Street Tulla. All proceeds to Clare 250 Cancer Centre in Ruan and also towards the cost of sending cancer patients to Lourdes.

RUAN GAA NEWS: 

Ruan Minor club AGM was held last Tuesday night in Ruan Community Centre. Outgoing Chairperson Gearóid Roughan and secretary Flan Lyons gave reports on the past year and highlighted the winning of the Division B Under 14s amalgamated team with Corofin and the Ruan under 14 win in division D. Tributes were paid to all those involved in the underage structure last year and team mentors were put in place for the coming year. Officers elected for coming year are as following Chairperson: Donal O hAinifein, Vice- Chairperson: John Punch, Secretary: Flan Lyons, Assistant Secretary: Gary Bell, PRO: Susan Rice and Registrar: Paul Howard. Compliments were paid to outgoing Chairperson Gearóid Roughan for the tremendous amount he has done in the past 5 yrs. Susan Rice PRO
