Older Person’s Award:  In each parish there are people who give outstanding service to the community but sometimes get little recognition for it.   The Clare Older Person’s Forum is an alliance of organisations that work with older people in the community.  Because they believe these local heroes should be more widely acknowledged, they have launched an annual Clare Older Person of the Year award scheme, and are asking groups in each parish to nominate a local person – aged over 55 years – as suitable for the Award.  Closing date is 22nd August 2017.  Nomination forms and further details available from The Clare Older People’s Council, c/o CLDC, Westgate Business Park, Kilrush Road, Ennis.
