BOOK LAUNCH - Transcriptions of Gravestones in Ruan Old Cemetery: In January 2012 the work of recording the inscriptions on all the headstones in the cemeteries in Ruan was begun. The reason for this was that many of the headstones are very old and the inscriptions were becoming illegible and would soon be lost. A book with photos of each headstone and its inscription has been produced and will be launched by Mayor of Clare, Joe Arkins after the 11.15 Mass on Sunday July 7th. All are welcome to join us for the launch in Ruan Community Centre where the book will be on sale and light refreshments will be served.

Thought for the Week.

Christ cannot live his life today in this world without our mouth,

our eyes, without our goings and coming, without our heart.

When we love, it is Christ loving through us.        (Cardinal Suenens)

FINAL REMINDER: Tax Return Forms: The revenue commissioners have in place a scheme for tax relief for certain eligible charities in respect of donations received. Ruan/Dysart Parish is a registered charity with the revenue so the tax you have paid on your contributions can, with your consent, be reclaimed by the parish. This tax relief is available to PAYE tax payers who have recorded contributions in excess of €250 in any tax year. This will not cost you anything; it is money that would otherwise stay with Revenue. If you received a CHY2 form with your annual contribution statement you are encouraged to complete and return this form to Fr P O’Neill as soon as possible. If you have forgotten to return last years form, it is not too late to do so, as it can still be claimed back.

RUAN TIDY TOWS CLOTHES COLLECTION: The collection of old clothes is still ongoing. The Collection Point is Ruan Community Centre and bags of old worn clothing, footwear, curtains, bags, belts and also old or broken mobile phones may be dropped there between 8.30 and 3.30 Monday to Friday. Clothing may be old or torn, but must be clean.  Your support would be greatly appreciated and will help fund projects in our Parish.
