Next Baptism Preparation Course: Corofin on Saturday 15th July from 11:00 am to 12 Noon.   All people intending to have children baptised must complete the baptismal preparation course before each child is baptised

The World Meeting of Families 2018 Volunteer Application Process is now Open:  As part of its pastoral preparations the organisers of the World Meeting of Families are now inviting thousands of volunteers to participate in this once-in-a-generation event.  The volunteers will be part of the operational team which will organise and run what will be the largest gathering of families in the world and we are delighted that our Volunteer Application Process is now open! You can apply to volunteer here: www.worldmeeting2018.ie/volunteer.  Applicants to volunteer must be residents of the island of Ireland at the time of application and be over 18 years of age, as of 1st January 2018 (or as part of a group), among other terms and conditions. Volunteers can also help in the lead up to the event in the main offices of WMOF2018 and in various preparatory events taking place around Ireland.

Crusheen Parish are holding a series of talks over the coming weeks – called Life in the Spirit –with some excellent speakers, including Dr Jessie Rodgers who lectures in Scripture in St Patrick’s College Maynooth. They take place in Crusheen Church Meeting Room from 8.00-9.00pm every Wednesday night. The programme of speakers is as follows: Wed. June 21st    Fr. Ger Fitzgerald  (Ennis)  Wed. June 28th     Dr. Jessie Rogers  (lecturer St Patrick’s College,  Maynooth)


Zumba classes will continue through the summer in Toonagh Hall at 8pm on Thursday evenings. A fun way to keep active which is proving very popular with those attending.

Congratulations to Ruan/Toonagh National Schools' team on winning the Clare Primary Schools Camogie final, Roinn 3, played in Cusack Park on Tuesday, beating Ballyea in the final. The panel was Meabhdh Casey, Niamh Glass, Sinead Hastings (Captain), Emily Whelan, Aisling Moloney, Aoife Anderson, Kate Forde, Aoife Glass, Neasa Ni Lachtnain, Aimee McDonagh, Aoife O'Loughlin, Áine Jones, Nicole Daffy, Saoirse Barry, May O'Malley, Aoibhe Moran, Summer O'Brien, Kate O'Donoghue, Aldine Wynne, Amy Gibbons and Eilis Strand. Cyril Lyons, Donnchadh Kelleher, Sean Eustace and Alice Ni Cheallaigh manage the team.

Camogie News: U14 C Championship Camogie Winners. On a score line of Ruan 6:4 Broadford 5:1, the Ruan girls won a very competitive final in a windswept Shannon pitch on Wednesday evening 14thJune. In front of a large crowd some excellent camogie skills were displayed, with fine catches passes and score being the order of the day. The Ruan Camogie Club wish to congratulate the girls and their management team on this fine achievement. On behalf of the girls they also want to express a huge thanks all the community for their support and for turning out in such great numbers for the final.

This team was Meabhdh Casey, Maria Jones, Emily Whelan, Sinead Hastings, Ciara O'Grady and Eve O'Connor (joint Captains), Niamh Glass, Neasa Ni Ainifein, Aisling Moloney, Kate Forde, Alice Anderson, Aoife Glass, Neasa Ni Lachtnain and the subs were Alanna Mulqueen, Áine Jones, Aimee McDonagh, May O'Malley, Summer O'Brien, Nicole Daffy, Chloe Callinan Queally, Grainne Wynne and Alanna Bolger. The mentors are Aidan Hastings, Alfie Jones, Pat Casey and Aidan Lawton.
