Thought for the Week

Jesus said "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them,

for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these".                 (Matthew 19:14)

A World Day of Prayer will be observed on Sunday, May 7th, also known as "Good Shepherd Sunday."  The purpose of this day is to publically fulfil the Lord's instruction to, "Pray the Lord of the harvest to send labourers into his harvest" (Mt 9:38; Lk 10:2).  Please pray that young men and women hear and respond generously to the Lord's call to the priesthood, diaconate, and religious life. We currently have three seminarians and three candidates preparing to enter to study for the Diocese of Killaloe. Please keep them in your prayers in a special way.

Safeguarding: The Parish welcomes the Diocesan Safeguarding Newsletter, which is available on the Diocesan websites www.killaloediocese.ie Our Parish Safeguarding representatives are Emer O’Halloran and Margaret O’Halloran and they can be contacted via the Parochial House or through Fr Pat O’Neill.    Please remember ‘Safeguarding children is everybody’s responsibility’

The Craft mornings which have been held in Toonagh Hall since last Oct. come to an end for the summer. Those who attended, not only enjoyed a 'cuppa' & shared tips on knitting, crochet and other crafts, but the €2 each person contributed, over the weeks made up a kitty which paid for paint which the local Community Employment scheme used to paint the kitchen, hall and alley in the complex. On the last morning Miriam Strand demonstrated planting window boxes which were raffled, and won by Martina O'Donoghue and Mary Cahir.

Corofin Dramatic Society present The Cripple of Inishmaan in Corofin Hall on this Sunday night 7th May at 8:00 pm.  This is the last chance to see this play before their appearance in the All Ireland Finals in Athlone on 9th May.
