Rosary in Ruan Church each evening at 7.00 pm for the month of May

Grotto in Fountain: The Rosary continues to be recited for the month of May every evening at the Grotto in Fountain at 8.30p.m.

Toonagh Hall: The fundraising committee for Toonagh Hall will have stands with different activities going on at the annual Gymkhana in Ruan on Sun. June 8th next.  A call is going out to anyone that might have a gazebo (tent) that they might loan it for the day so that various stalls may be laid out.  Please contact Rose (0970610212) if you can help.  To date, the support of the community for the fundraising has been very encouraging and is much appreciated and it is hoped that the goodwill of the community will continue.

Safeguarding Audit Report:  On Monday the 12th May, the Diocese of Killaloe published the audit report from the National Board for Safeguarding Children in the Catholic Church in Ireland. The audit of safeguarding practices in the diocese took place in November 2013. 

Bishop O’Reilly stated that “the Board conducted a comprehensive audit of safeguarding practice in the diocese and have made four recommendations”. On behalf of the diocese, Bishop O’Reilly accepted these recommendations and thanked the Board for their work. 

On behalf of the Diocese of Killaloe he extended heartfelt apologies to all those who suffered abuse at the hands of a small number of priests of the diocese and stated: “I would like to assure parents and children that the diocese is committed to ensuring that best practices are in place and operational at all times to safeguard children now and in the future.” Should you have any concerns in this area please contact:

Killaloe Diocesan Youth Council in conjunction with Ennis Gospel Choir are inviting all exam students, their families and friends to a special exam mass on Sunday 25th May at 7pm  in The Church of Our Lady, (Fahy Hall) Roslevan. We extend a warm welcome to students from all over our diocese. The Diocesan Youth Council will launch their specially commissioned book marks on the night.

Irish Kidney Association Invitation  The Clare Branch of the Irish Kidney Association invites you, our Donor Families and transplant recipients to their Annual Mass of Remembrance & Thanksgiving, on Sunday 18th May at 12 noon in the Cathedral Ennis. The Mass will be celebrated in honour of those whose organs were donated thus giving the Gift of New Life to so many.

Under 14: Ruan/Corofin Under U14 A side were defeated by Kilmaley on Monday. The Ruan Under U14 C team lost out to O'Callaghan's Mills in Round 3. Upcoming fixtures, Under 14 A: Ruan/Corofin v Clarecastle next Friday May 23rd away. Under 14 C: Ruan v Wolfe Tones this Sunday May 18 in Shannon at 6.30.

Clare Development Squads: Well done to Eoin McMahon, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Conor Wynne and Colin Haugh who played with the Clare U15s and well done to Caimin Whelan who was part of the Clare U14 development squad   Gearóid
