Friends of Toonagh Concert.
The walls of Toonagh Hall resounded with the finest of traditional music, singing, step dancing, set dancing and sean nos dancing on Saturday night last at a Friends of Toonagh Concert. The generosity of the people, young and old, who gave of their talents on the night is hugely appreciated, as is the generosity of those who donated prizes for the raffle, helped with sound, video, selling tickets, in the kitchen, parking and any other way.
It was a huge community effort and by next week it will be known what monies were raised to purchase a defibrillator and make a contribution to The Heart and Lung Appeal at the Mater Hospital.

Handball Champions.
There was great excitement in Toonagh last week when the Handball Club won the Clare GAA Handball Division 4 League. It was a fantastic achievement for the reformed Club in just its second year back playing competitively and great credit is due to all the players for their efforts over the past two years since it came back into existence.
The players are Eoghan Hynes, Michael Casey, Michael Callinan, Senan Hehir, Noel Barry, Kevin Hassett, Alan Cummins, Philip Lucas, Declan Vaughan, Shane Griffin, Brian Griffin and Anthony Conlon.

Cillini in Ruan/Dysart Parish.
The following Cillíní are indentified on the Ordanance Survey map:  Killeen, Rinneen, Druminshin and the one beside Dysart church (see map at the back of both Churches).  According to the Antiquities of Co Clare published in 1839 there are also burial grounds in Mucanais, Garryvohill, Knocknakille, Killeacan, Tirnea, Rannahan, Kilkee and Carrowkeele.
If anybody has local knowledge of any of these and can identify them, it would be appreciated if they would contact Frances on 087 6575578 or Linda on 086 8748845.  The intention is to record and commemorate those buried in these unmarked graves.
