Scouts. This weekend saw 150 Beavers converge on the Ruan Scouts Campsite In Nooan, where a County Emergency Day was held. The children, and adults, who were there were addressed by a Paramedic, outlining how and when to make emergency calls, how to put someone in the recovery position, how to deal with injuries and how to put together a First Aid Box. The Coastguard Helicopter, based in Shannon, did a ‘fly-over’ which was enthusiastically greeted by all at the camp. The Beavers will take part in a Scavengers hunt in Dromore Wood on Thursday eve. At the weekend Cubs from all over the county will attend the campsite for another day of fun activities. As a fundraiser for the Ruan Scouts a Family Fun Bingo will be held in Toonagh Hall on Friday, April, 12 next, at 7.30pm and the organisers are hoping for huge support from the Community, which will benefit from the activities of the Scouts well into the future. |
