Easter Tractor Run.
There was great excitement on Sunday when around 80 vehicles, including tractors/trucks/motor bikes & vintage vehicles arrived in Ruan to take part in a Tractor Run which ran from the village vis Kelly’s, Corofin and back to the village.  Hot food was served in Morty's afterwards and an enjoyable day was had by all involved.
It was a very enjoyable family day out and the kiddies tractor run was great fun. Over €1,700 was raised and this will be used for the upkeep of the village and graveyards, the improvements to which have been commented on since Ruan has been involved the Tidy Towns and Villages.

Easter Ceremonies.
Large crowds attended the ceremonies in the parish, which started with Mass in Ruan on Thursday evening last. The community was involved in the liturgies over the Easter Weekend, and Dawn Mass was celebrated in the hallowed and sacred ruins of the old church in Dysart Graveyard at 6am on Easter Sunday morning, with Fr. Pat O’Neill, Celebrant.

Apostolic Works Society.
All those involved in the local Apostolic Works Society are heading to the finishing line now with the work they have been doing since last year’s display. This year the Display will be held on Sunday, April 15, in Ruan Community Centre, which is undergoing upgrading works,  and all who visit on that date should find the Centre very inviting and warm, as some of the works taking place there include insulation and heating.

World Dancing Championships
Local girl, Aoife Bane, from Ballygriffey, Ruan, represented Ireland at the World Dancing Championships which were held in Glasgow over the weekend.  Aoife was recalled and finished in thirty-third place, which was a great achievement in this prestigious competition.  She dances with the MacGabhann Academy, which hold classes every week in Toonagh Hall and she, her sister Ailbhe and brother, Fionn, were  among the dancers who supported the Friends of Toonagh Concert recently.

Recent Death.
The month’s mind mass for the late Seanie O’Connor, Castlematrix, Rathkeale, Co. Limerick and formerly of Attyterilla, Ruan, brother of Christy, P.J. and  Jerry, will be held in Ruan Church on this Saturday, April 7, at 5pm.
