Camogie.
The under 14 girls drew in their game against Scarriff/Ogonelloe on Wednesday last in a tough game, where both teams gave of their all right up to the final whistle.
The under 18 girls won the John Collins Memorial Tournament which was organised and hosted by Newmarket on Fergus on Sunday. They played five games and made it to the final, which they won. The teams which participated in the tournament were fulsome in their praise of the host Club, Newmarket on Fergus, which pulled out all the stops to ensure everyone had an enjoyable day.
The adult team plays the next round of the league in Ruan on Saturday at 11.30am, when they meet Feakle.
The members of the local Club will be out, in force, walking to support the Lynch family who are holding a fundraising walk on Sunday in rememberance of their son, Tadgh who died at the age of eight months from Sudden Infant Death and who would have celebrated his 10th birthday this April. The 10K walk/run starts at 10am from the local GAA field and monies raised will be divided between two very worthy causes, Feileacain, which supports people affected by the death of a baby during or after pregnancy and Children's Ark Paediatric Unit in U.H.L. The support of the community will be much appreciated.
