Old Clothes Collection.
 
The final date for the collection of old clothes is Fri. 27th April next.   Old, worn clothing, footwear, bed linen, old and broken mobile phones may be dropped in to Ruan Community Centre between 8.30a.m. and 3.00p.m, daily and Toonagh Hall will also be open next Mon from 9a.m. to 12 noon.   Your support is greatly appreciated and will help fund projects in the parish.

Ruan Village Spring Clean.
 
A spring clean and litter pick will be held in the village on Mon. and Tue. evenings, 23rd and 24th April next at 7.00p.m., meeting outside Ruan Church.   It is hoped that everyone will take the initiative to get out and give a hand - young and not so young - all will be welcome.   Litter picks and bags will be provided.  Come out and help make the village a cleaner and nicer place to live in and visit.

Community Games - Swimming.
 
Children interested in taking part in the Community Games Swimming competition should note it takes place in Ennis Leisure Centre on Tue. 24th April next at 4.30p.m. 
 

Camogie.
 
Clare u14 - Louise McDonnell and Eimear O'Brien were selected to play with Clare u14's in a Blitz in Rathkeale, Limerick on Sun. last.  They got through to the final in which they were beaten by Limerick.  The County trials continue again this week, before the panels are finalised.
Clare u16 - Lauren O'Donoghue was on the Clare panel which played Cork on Sun. last in the u16A semi final.   Clare led at half time 1 - 4 to 6 pts, but Cork ran out winners at full time 3-11 to 1-6.
Ruan u16 played their 1st round game against Whitegate.  Despite a strong performance by the Ruan girls, they were defeated.  Ruan's scores came from Emer Neilan, Laura Crowe and Lauren O'Donoghue.  This week they play Clarecastle in the 2nd round.
u10 girls had a good start to their campaign, having wins over Corofin and The Burren in the first u10 Go Games Blitz of the season, hosted by Corofin.   All nine players got to play in various positions, and were happy with their performances.
Training for all ages - from Jnr. Infants to u16 continues every Wed. from 7 to 8 p.m. in Ruan pitch.  New players are always welcome.
Juniors - preparations are underway for the Jnr. semi final which has been moved from Sun 22nd to Sat 21st at 7.00p.m., venue to be decided.   Lotalities may be divided as Ruan, managed and trained by John Punch, Martin Moroney and Kevin O'Regan, take on John Punch's native parish of Feakle.  A lively game is anticipated and all support will be greatly appreciated.

Tipperary, mother of Tom McGrath, Cloonagh, Dysart;  Francie Morgan, Bannagher, Dysart, cousin of Ralph Morgan, Toonagh;  Jimmy O'Donoghue, Cappamore, Kinvara, brother of Kitty Crowe and Noreen Callinan, Dysart and Johnny O'Donoghue, Toonagh;  Cathal Forde, Gort, Co. Galway, nephew of Michael O'Brien of Toonagh and Michael Ryan, Birr, Co. Offaly, brother of Claire Hurley, Dysart.
