Internet Safety.

Ruan School hosts a talk on "Internet Safety" on Tue. Dec. 11th in the School at 7.30p.m.   The speaker on the night is Dr. Maureen Griffin, Forensic Psychologist and founder of Ireland's leading Internet Safety Firm.  This talk is particularly suitable to parents of primary and secondary school children.
 
Christmas Cards.

Christmas cards, depicting Ruan Church, are available for sale in the Sacristy at Mass times, or directly from Fr. O'Neill.
 
Bingo Night.
 
Purcell's Bar is the place to be on this Fri. night, 7th Dec. at 9 p.m., when the local Camogie team hosts a Bingo night as a fundraiser for the Club.  The organisers have a fun-filled night in store, with great prizes and a raffle, and they look forward to the support of the community.
 
G.A.A. News.
 
Well done to Ruan hurler, Francis O'Halloran, who won a Munster Inter Firm medal with the Limerick Prison Guards team.   Francis was the goalkeeper on the team, which defeated Zimmer of Shannon, in the Munster Final at U.L.
 
Death.
 
The death has taken place of Patrick Mulqueen, Killimer, father of Martin Mulqueen of Nooan, Ruan.

Keep Clare Clean.
 
Children of the parish who came 1st and 2nd in the recent "Keep Clare Clean" competition may attend at Ennis U.D.C. Offices at Waterpark House, Drumbiggle on this Fri. night, Dec. 7th at 8 p.m., where their entries will be judged, along with the rest of the entries from the County.  Those who came 1st and 2nd are: u6 Sara Browne and Tara Moroney;  u8 Aisling Moloney and Aoibhe Moran, u10 Tierna Casey and Eve O'Connor;  u12 Sadie Keane.
   
Senior Citizens Party.
 
The Senior Citizens of the parish were treated to a seasonal meal and festive entertainment at the annual Christmas Party, which was held at Morty Kelly's Bar in Ruan on Sunday last.   This year Frank Custy and his friends were joined by musicians, singers and dancers from the Toonagh Kitchen Sessions and it was a very enjoyable evening.

Off to Boston.
 
Ailbhe Bane of Ballygriffey danced at the Munster Championships at the West County Hotel last weekend, and she has now qualified to dance at the World Irish Dancing Championships which will be held in Boston in March of next year.
