Killaloe Diocesan Plan.
Bishop Kieran O'Reilly will launch the Killaloe Diocesan Plan for the Imeall Boirne parishes in Ruan Church on this Fri. Jan. 17th at 7.00p.m.  All the community is invited, particularly the children who are to be confirmed this year, with their parents and  all Pastoral Council members.
Local History Group.
The local history group resumes its meetings on this Thurs. 16th Jan. at 8p.m. in Morty's Bar.  Mary O'Halloran, from Dysart, a keen historian, with a great knowledge about the local area will be in attendance, so it promises to be a very interesting and informative meeting.   All are welcome.
Toonagh Hall Closed Down.
Due to recent storm damage, the entire complex, comprising the Old School, kitchen, hall, games hall and handball alley is now completely closed down.  Nobody has permission to use any of these facilities, until renovation work is complete.  The tendering process is in progress and the community will be notified of what is going on through the local Notes in "the Champion" and the parish newsletter.
Toonagh Walk.
The walk organised by Breda McCullough to raise funds for the Clare Branch of Seeking Vision Sunset Foundation will still take place on this Sun. 19th Jan. However, in a change from the usual venue in Toonagh Hall, the walk will now start and finish in Dysart Church, with registration taking place there from 11.30a.m. and the walk starting at 12.30p.m.  Refreshments will be served after the walk and raffle will be held.
G.A.A. Minor Club.
A medal presentation function will be held in Ruan Community Centre on this Sat. night., Jan. 18th at 7.30p.m. for our Under 14B County Champions.  Special guests on the night will be Cian Dillon and Killian Ryan.  Refreshments will also be served.  All are welcome to support our young hurlers on their special night. 
Recent Deaths.
The deaths have occurred of P.J. Foudy late of Ennis and Dysart, husband of Kathleen Hayes of Ruan and Carmel Neville, nee Butler, of Clarecastle, sister of Frances Brodie, Killeen, Ruan.
