Community Mass Celebration.
Looking to the future of our churches in this parish, as in many parishes around the country, communities will have to come together and participate in their local churches if they wish to keep them open for christenings, weddings, funerals, etc. On Monday, 3rd July, a large group of parishioners met in Ruan Community Centre to discuss this and came away feeling heartened and enthusiastic about the idea of Lay Led liturgy and, hopefully, this enthusiasm will permeate through the community and lead to a vibrant church going into the future.
Training will begin in September and more information will be available before then.
The Sunday evening Mass at 7pm in Dysart on Sun. 16th July will be a special celebration of 'Community' with members of the community  participating in readings, music, singing and the Offertory procession. A meeting will be held in Dysart Church on Thurs. 13th July at 8pm and if anyone wishes to play a part, they will be most welcome.

U12 Hurling.
Ruan u12s played their first game in the Bennet League six weeks ago. They didn't get off to a good start with losses to Smith O'Briens and Whitegate. However, after some touch training sessions, they began to perform better and gain confidence.
They had convincing wins over O'Callaghan's Mills, Broadford, The Banner and Bodyke. The final game in this league is on this Fri. (7th July) when they play Feakle/Kilanena in Ruan and, hopefully, they will have a day out in Cusack Park in the next two weeks.
