First Holy Communion.
On Sat. last, the Sacrament of First Holy Communion was administered by Fr. Pat O'Neill in St. Tola's Church, Dysart, to pupils of Toonagh N.S. The children were David Barry, Jimmy Marrinan, Vincent Darmach, Eoin Hassett, Saoirse Barry, Anna Browne, Emma Cantillon, Ola Dyksy, Aine Jones, Aoibhe Moran, Kate O'Donoghue, Lily Barbotin, Pippa Skye Rushton.  
The children all had some part to play in the liturgy, from reading, bringing up gifts, singing and music, which made it a very special occasion for them and their families. 
 
Ruan N.S. Fun Run.
Following on the tremendous success and support received for its 6km Fun Run/Walk last year, Ruan N.S. will hold its second one this year on Fri. 6th June next starting at 7p.m. from the school, registration at the school from 5.30p.m.   
All funds raised will go towards providing more play area for the schoolchildren.
 
Cash for Clobber.
On June 4th Ruan N.S. will be collecting old clean clothing plus towels, curtains, hats, belts, shoes, handbags, bed-linen (sheets, pillowcases, duvet covers) NO duvets or pillows.  
Bags are available in the school and the support of the community will be very much appreciated for this fundraiser for the school.
 
Camogie Bingo Nite.
Ruan Camogie Club will host a fundraising Bingo Nite at Purcell's Bar, Ruan, on this Fri. night 30th May, at 9.00p.m. 
Loads of prizes on offer on the night, with all funds going towards the Club
 
Recent Deaths.
The deaths have taken place recently of Michael Roughan, Gort, uncle of Ruth Roughan, Fountain, Kathleen Kelly, Ennis, mother of Joe Kelly, Beechgrove, Toonagh and Hugh Rice of Attyterilla, Ruan.
