Toonagh N.S. Welcomes New Principal.
On Friday last, the teachers and children in Toonagh N.S. welcomed their new Principal, Gearoid Roughan, who has been appointed to replace Donnchadh Kelleher, who is now working in Clonlara N.S.
Gearoid is no stranger to Toonagh, as he is a former pupil of the school. He has been in Scoil Christ Ri, Cloughleigh, Ennis for the past twenty years, serving as Principal there for the past six years and the community welcomes his appointment.

Fr. Pat O’Neill administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to the children of Ruan and Toonagh National Schools on Saturday last in St. Mary’s Church, Ruan. The children were Roze Barbotin, Paul Bliss, Roisin Cotter, Christian Cummins, Emma Finnucane, Roisin Finnucane, Amy Gibbons, Cathal Hastings, Dara McDonagh, CIllian McInerney, James O’Sullivan, Brian O’Gorman, Brendan O’Halloran, Aoibheann Roughan, Eilis Strand, Barry Whelan, Adam Quirke, Jake Sheehan, Kriston Steigerwald, Oisin d’Abreu, Anna Steigerwald, Chloe O’Loughlin, Ella Forde, Emma Masterson, Katelin O’Loughlin and Rebecca Meaney.
It was a beautiful ceremony with the children partaking in the music, singing and readings, and it was a very special day for them and their families.
The parents of fifth class in both schools laid on tasty refreshments in Ruan School hall afterwards where families had time to catch up with each other and relax.
