U10 Blitz The inclement weather didn’t dampen the spirits of all who were involved in the under 10 Blitz competition hosted by Ruan Camogie Club in the GAA field on Saturday last. Teams from Eire Og, Clooney/Quin and The Burren took part. The Ruan girls led all the way, winning all their games. Well done to all who took part and great credit must go to parents and mentors who organise these events and provide refreshments, transport, referees and do their best to ensure the future of Camogie thrives in these parishes. Into The Final. The amalgamated Corofin/Ruan under 14’s are through to the Final of the ‘B’ Championship having overcome Scariff/Ogonelloe in Killanena on Sunday. The final will be played on Friday evening in Cusack Park @ 7p.m. when they come up against Clonlara Minors through to Munster Final. Well done to the Clare Minor team which overcame Cork on Sunday last, and now face Limerick in the Munster Final on Sunday, June 30. Six players from the amalgamated Corofin/Ruan minors are on the panel and it is hoped that they continue on their winning ways. Toonagh Handball. The under 14 boys from Toonagh Handball Club, Christian Cummins, David Barry, Dara McDonagh, Jimmy Marrinan and Barry Whelan, with their trainer Alan Cummins travelled to Ballydesmond, Co. Cork in Saturday last to take part in a Feile. They played teams from Wexford, Kilkenny and Galway and were treated highly and enjoyed their trip to Cork. Underage Hurling and Camogie Camps. Ruan G.A.A. has organised its Summer Camp for August 19 to 22 and forms will be delivered to the schools in the parish in the coming week. The Cul Camp takes place in the local G.A.A. field from Monday, July 8 next. |
