Recent Weddings.
 
The wedding took place on Friday last of Alan Hehir, son of Malachy and Mary Hehir of Dysart and Rosemary Morrissey, daughter of John and Anne Morrissey from Kilkenny, at St. Tola's Church, Dysart.   Celebrant was Fr. Pat O'Neill and Bridesmaids were Rosemary's sisters, Cynthia and Catherine Morrissey.   Groomsmen were Enda and Declan Hehir, Alan's brothers.   Emma and Layana Morrissey were Flowergirls.   The reception was held in Woodstock Hotel, Ennis, and, following the honeymoon, the couple will reside in Ennis.
On Saturday last, Eileen O'Sullivan, daughter of John and Agnes O'Sullivan of Hazelgrove, Ruan, married Micheal Brennan, son of Michael and Mary Brennan of Kilnamona, in St. Mary's Church, Ruan, with Fr. Pat O'Neill, Celebrant.   Bridesmaids were Mary Stokes, Margaret Mullins and Lourda Brennan.  Gromsmen were Barry Lane, Fearghal Coffey and Sean Chaplin.   After the Ceremony the couple were joined by family and friends at the reception in The Falls Hotel, Ennistymon.

Community Games Track and Field.
 
This competition will take place in Ruan G.A.A. field on Tue. 15th May next, at 5.30p.m.  All children who wish to take part should attend at that time.

Deaths.
 
The deaths have taken place recently of Hugo O'Prey, Ballycran, Co. Down, father of Angela Danagher, Drumcavan, Ruan, and Thomas Kennedy of Carrick on Suir, Co. Tipperary, grandson of Tom and Madge Roughan, Fountain.  
 
 Alzheimers Tea Day.
 
The Alzheimers Tea Day which was held in the parish last week was very well supported, with €207 raised in Ruan Community Centre and €463 collected in Toonagh Hall.   Winners of the prize raffle in Ruan were Sandra Punch, Nora Guthrie and Sheila Lynch and in Toonagh Eileen Roughan, Eithne O'Gorman, Ita Hastings and Angela Danagher.  The support of the community is very much appreciated and all monies raised in the county will be used in the county, to alleviate the plight of families who have members suffering from Alzheimers Disease.

!st and 2nd go through to the County Final which will take place in Ennis Leisure Centre on May 17th at 5.00p.m.   Each competitor may compete in one event only.

G.A.A.
 
U14 Hurling - Ruan/Corofin have had a very successful campaign so far, winning four of their five games, and now they are through to the "B" semi final where they will meet Sacriff/Ogonelloe, venue and date to be decided.  The Ruan u14s have won all five of their games in the "D" competition and are now through to the semi final.
Ruan/Corofin U16s are competing in Division 1 this year and train in Ruan G.A.A. field every Sat. morning at 10.00a.m.

Football.
 
Six young boys from the parish, Colm Rice, Jason Courtney, Conor Hillary, Sean Hillary, Lee O'Donovan and Eoin Hogan play football with Corofin and they are now through to the u16 Division 2 Sheild final, having overcome Miltown in the semifinal.   
 
Cake Sale
 
Breda and Brendan McCullough are holding a Cake Sale and Raffle on Sunday, May 20th next, as a fundraiser for Enable Ireland.  It will be held in Dysart after 9.45a.m. Mass and in Ruan Community Centre after 11.15a.m. Mass on the day, and it is hoped that the community will support this worthy event.  Donations of cakes will be welcome, further enquiries from Breda at 0851947763.
