Student of the Year.
Local girl and past pupil of Toonagh National School, Tierna Casey of Drumeer, Ruan was awarded student of the year in Music for 2021 in St. Flannan’s College last week. Tierna is a talented fiddle player and singer and has lent her talents to many concerts and sessions in Toonagh  Hall over the years. She has made a positive contribution to St. Flannan’s College in the years she attended the school and it is hoped that she will have success in whatever she chooses to do in the future, as it is for all the students who graduated from the secondary schools in the county in what has been a challenging year for students, teachers and parents.

Recent Death.
The death has taken place of Bernadette (Benny) Woodford, née Phillips, late of Ashfield Park, Ennis. Benny was predeceased by her husband, Alan, son, David, daughter in law, Miriam and is survived by her son Aidan, daughter, Anne, daughters in law, son in law, grandchildren, great grand daughter, relatives and friends.
