Community Games Track & Field.
 
A good crowd of children took part in the Track & Field  activities in the local G.A.A. pitch last week, the results are as follows:-

Community Games Swimming Finals.
 
The Swimming finals were held in Ennis Leisure Centre last week - well done to the children who competed in the competitions.   Ronan Corey won Gold in u14, he now goes on to represent the County in the National Finals to be held in Athlone in August.   Eoin McNamara won Silver in u16.  Kelly O'Leary, Eva Power and Aoife Madigan reached the finals of their events.

G.A.A.
 
Having overcome Scariff/Ogonelloe in the semi final, Ruan/Corofin meet Ballyea in the u14B Final in Cusack Park this coming Sat. at 12.00 noon.   The team would welcome support on the day.   Ruan u14 hurlers beat The Banner in the semi final are now through to the  "D" final, when they will meet Ennistymon, at a date and venue to be decided.

Football.
 
Good luck to Donal O'hAinifein of Ruan, who is Manager of Eire Og u16 football team which has gone through to the "A" Final, meeting Lissycasey, having beaten Ennistymon, and to Conal O'hAinifein and Liam O'Donovan, to local boys who play on the team.

Walk for Day Care Centre.
 
Many people from this parish attend the District Daycare Centre in Clarecastle and are transported by bus there and back.  They take part in social activities and avail of the services provided by the Centre.  The Centre relies heavily on fundraising, and to this end a Scenic Walk, Run or Jog will be held on Sat. 9th June next at 11a.m., starting in the Church Car Park,  with registration at 10a.m. in Abbey Hall, Clarecastle.  
Refreshments will be served afterwards at the Day Care Centre.

Cake Sale for Enable Ireland.
 
The Cake Sale held after Masses in Dysart and Ruan on Sunday last was a great success and €660 was raised for Enable Ireland.  
Breda McCullough appreciates the help of  all who baked, and supported the event in any way on the day.

Death.
 
The death has taken place of Bridget Considine of Maidstone, Kent, England, sister of Michael Considine of Moyhree.  Burial has taken place in Kiltulla Graveyard.

Clare 250 Mile Cycle.
 
Michael Daffy and Anthony O'Halloran joined the 88 cyclists in the 33rd annual Cycle for the Cancer Centre in Ballygriffey and sending of Cancer patients to Lourdes, over the weekend.   This year the cyclists and their supporters were blessed with favourable weather and were warmly greeted as they went through the various towns and villages.   Anthony O'Halloran came away bearing the title "King of the Hills" again this year.
