Fr. Pat O'Neill administered Confirmation to children from both schools in the parish at the weekend. On Saturday in Dysart Church Aoife McInerney, Lisa Whelan, Tierna Casey, Eimear O'Loughlin, Sadie Keane, Aoife Meere, Kate O'Halloran and Conor Corcoran from Toonagh N.S. and on Sunday morning in Ruan Church Cian Cassidy, Niall Foley, Patrick Mulqueen, Sean LeCathelinais, Shane Punch, Aisling Murray, Amy O'Donoghue, Chloe Greene and Niamh d'Abreu received the Sacrament.
The children, helped by their teachers and Fr. Pat, ensured that it was a very special celebration for themselves and their families, with their participation in readings, singing, music, Offertory procession and Art work marking their rite of passage onto another chapter in their lives.

Induction Day.

Toonagh N.S. will hold an Induction Day for parents and their Junior Infant children  who will be starting in Toonagh this coming September on Fri. 5th June next, when they can meet teachers and be familiar with the school before the 'Big Day'.

Tidy Towns.

This year's Tidy Town Competition is imminent and people are being asked by the local Tidy Town's organisation to do their bit to make the village, estates and their environs look their best for the summer months in keeping them litter and weed free. People who put up hanging baskets and window boxes are also being encouraged to do so as soon as possible so that everything will be ship-shape when the competition gets underway.

Ruan School Fun Run takes place on Thursday 4th June at 7p.m. Pre registration available at school and on evening from 5.30pm. This has become an annual event with people of all fitness levels running,  and with families walking the course, and refreshments will be served afterwards.
