Recent Death.
 
The death has taken place of Brendan Purcell, formerly of Purcell's Pub in Ruan, in Luton, England recently, where he lived most of his life.   He operated a successful plumbing business until his retirement.   A keen sportsman, Brendan played hurling with Ruan in his youth, and was also a keen golfer.   He was renowned for his ready wit and engaging company.   He was predeceased by his wife, Bridie (McGovern) in 1982.  
Brendan is survived by his son, Michael and daughter, Josephine, sisters, Eileen Purcell and Nancy Casey, sisters in law, Kitty and Eileen Purcell and many nephews and nieces. 
 
 
Traffic Disruption.
 
Due to the relaying of a new water pipeline between Ryan's Quarry and Toonagh Stores on the Dysart/Toonagh Water Scheme, temporary traffic lights  are in place and road users are asked to proceed with caution in the area for the duration of the works.
