Tidy Towns Results

Ruan was delighted with the recent Tidy Towns Report - they achieved 324 points, an increase of eight points on last year's competition. A number of projects were praised, in particular the initiatives to support nature and biodiversity in the area.
The adjudicators were very impressed with the amount of work that a small community is getting through in the year and credit to the local Resource Group of workers and the volunteers who take pride in their work in keeping the village, graveyards, community centres and housing estates looking their best throughout the year.

Recent Death.
The death has taken place of Phil Cunningham (née Burrell), mother of Carmel Foley, Ruan.

Under 16A Hurling.
Following in their recent win with the Corofin/Ruan Minor A Team, many of the boys participated in the Under 16A Championship which was played in Clarecastle at at the weekend. They played Sixmilebridge who came out on top by two points. The boys have put in great work over the season and credit to them, their parents and mentors.

Camogie Shield Final.
The Ruan Camogie team lost out, narrowly, to Sixmilebridge in the under 16 Shield Final which was played in Fr. McNamara Park, in a very competitive game.
This brings an end to their season and all who were involved throughout the season are to be credited for their enthusiasm and passion.
