Accolade for "Witches Belle".
When Edel Twomey, nee O'Regan, formerly of Dromore, Ruan had their first baby, her husband, Liam presented her with, not diamonds, but a greyhound named Witches Belle.  They greyhound has brought with it great success, as Witches Belle was nominated, and won, Bitch of the Year 2016, at the I.G.B. National Greyhound Racing Awards, sponsored by Galway Crystal, which were held in the Killashee Hotel, Naas, Co. Kildare on Sunday last.
This was a great accolade for Edel and her husband who live in Cork, where Liam is a greyhound at his kennels.

U10's Trip to Tipp.
On Sun. 8th Oct. last, the u10 Hurling squad was invited to represent Clare in a very competitive tournament in Cappawhite GAA Club, Co. Tipperary. They were beaten by one point in the "A" semi final and, as a result, qualified for the"B" final, when they defeated the host Club.  Every boy got to play Hurling on the day and every boy got some game time.
Ruan also fielded an u9 team which also did very well in the day, playing Cappawhite, Co. Tipperary, Murrow Boher, Limerick and Harps, Laois. In all twenty seven boys travelled to the tournament and had a very enjoyable outing, thanks to parents and mentors who accompanied the boys on the trip.

Running for Clare Crusaders.
Shane O'Loughlin from Kilcurrish and Aidan Lawton from Nooan are running in the Dublin City Marathon at the weekend to raise funds for the Clare Crusaders Clinic.   They look forward to the support of the community in their efforts.
