Art & Craft Classes in Toonagh.
 
Collette Dinan will hold art and craft classes for children in Toonagh Hall, beginning on Wed. Nov. 9th next - two classes 3.30p.m. to 5.00p.m. and 6.30p.m. to 8.00p.m.   Further enquiries from Collette at 0862229275.
 
Recent Deaths.
 
The death has taken place of John Tiernan of Louisburg, Co. Mayo, father of Tim Tiernan of Ballygriffey, Ruan.   The death has also taken place of Bridget O'Brien, nee O'Brien, of Grannagh, Co. Limerick, and formerly of Caherlough.   Burial has taken place in Ruan Graveyard.   She is survived by her family in Limerick and extended family in Clare.  

Halloween Disco.
 
Scoil Mhuire Ruan Parents Association is hosting the annual Halloween Disco in Ruan Community Hall on Fri. 28th Nov. from 7p.m. to 9.00p.m.   All primary school children from the parish are welcome to attend, and must be accompanied by an adult.   Fancy dress optional.   €4.00 per child or €10 per family.  

Eucharistic Bell.
 
The Eucharistic Bell will be coming to our parish on Sun. 23rd Oct next, arriving at 7.00p.m.   There will be a prayer service in the Church at that time and on Monday, the bell will be brought to all the schools in the Imeall Boirne parishes.

Intermediate Final.
 
All roads from the parish lead to Cusack Park on Sun next, when Ruan will play Eire Og in the Intermediate Hurling Final.    
Parishioners will have an opportunity to contribute to the Club County final fund before the Harvest Mass which takes place this Fri. night, 21st at 8.00p.m. in Ruan Church, when members will hold a Church Gate Collection.

Drama.
 
Ruan Drama Group will shortly begin rehearsals for a three act play "Say Cheese", a comedy by Bernard Farrell.   The play has a cast of twelve, and there are still a number of parts to be filled.   Anyone interested in taking part, either on stage or back stage may contact Gerry Heagney, or any member of the Drama Group.
 
Clare Community Games Competition.
 
Golden Vale Milk Clare Community Games "Keep Clare Clean" Awareness Project is holding a competition for a poster or a poem.   Age categories u6, u8, u10, u12 and u14, on 31st July, 2011.  A special category will also be included.  1st and 2nd from each age group from each category in the parish will go forward for County adjudication.   Entries to Moira O'Loughlin or Bernadette Kelly by Oct 28th next.
 
Camogie.
 
Ruan Minor Camogie team will play Whitegate in a semi final on Sunday, 23rd at 10.00a.m.  The venue has yet to be decided.
