Final Fever.

Well done to Corofin/Ruan u16 hurlers on a brilliant win over Feakle/Killanena, on a scoreline of 2-11 to 1-11.   Full credit is due to the players and mentors on a great achievement, which now sees the team through to the u15 final in Div. 1, meeting Eire Og in Clarecastle, this Sun. 16th at 3.00p.m.
The u13s played the 1st round of the Clooney/Quin tournament on Sat. last, when they beat Banner.
Liam O'Donovan, Colm Rice, Conal o'hAinefein, Tim O'Connor, Michael Lyons and Mark Corry were part of the Clare underage hurling squad which took place recently in Tipperary, Cork and Waterford recently.
There will be great support for the Clare u21 team when they take on Kilkenny in Thurles on Sat. eve. in the final, and, in local support, in particular, for Killian Ryan a member of Ruan G.A.A. Club, who has been a strong presence in the team all the way to the final.

Flag Day.
 
Ruan G.A.A. Club will  hold its annual Flag Day in Ennis on this Sat. 15th Sept.  The Club, which tirelessly supports and encourages the G.A.A. in the parish and is an integral part of the lives of so many people, will welcome support on the day.
 
Craft Classes in Toonagh Hall.
 
 Anyone interested in crochet, knitting or embroidery classes in should contact Rose (0870610212), with a view to meeting up in Toonagh Hall on Wed nights over the winter, where people with experience in these crafts will pass on their skills.

Kitchen Sessions.
 
The Kitchen Sessions, which have proved to be a great success, resumed in Toonagh Hall on Friday night last, they continue every Fri. night,, 7.00 to 9.00p.m., with singing, music and dancing (sean-nos, brush, set, step).  The Caledonian Set will be taught this term.   All ages are welcome.

Camogie.
 
U8 - A Blitz was held on Sat. last in Ruan, with visiting Clubs Tulla and Killanena taking part.  
U16 girls took on Clarecastle last week and had a good, skilful game.   Clarecastle were physically stronger, winning on a scoreline of 3 - 9 to 2 - 6.   On Mon. eve. the girls tookk to the field in the last game of the group against Whitegate.   The girls played with great spirit and clinched victory, 3 - 9 to 2 - 7.  They are now in the semi final which will be played on Wed. 19th Sept, at a venue to be decided.
The Junior team played in the final game in the group against Eire Og, with Eire Og emerging winners 7 - 7 to 3 - 7.   This result puts Ruan in the semi final of their group, which will be played at a date to be confirmed.
Co. Squads - the U14C team travels to Thomas Davis G.A.A. Club, Tallagh, Dublin, this weekend for a blitz - the Club will be represented by Louise McDonnell, Roisin O'Loughlin, Eimear O'Brien and Laura Neilan.
 
National Hospice Coffee Morning.
 
The National Hospice Coffee Morning will be held this year  on Thurs. 20th September.   It will be held in this parish, with the proceeds going to Cahercalla Hospice.   In Ruan Community Centre, it takes place on Wed. 19th, from 9.30 to 12.30p.m..   The Coffee Morning in Toonagh Hall will be on Thurs. 20th from 9.30 to 12.30p.m.   The organisers will welcome the support of the Community on those days.

Clare Stages Rally.
 
The Auburn Lodge Hotel Clare Stages Rally will be held over this coming weekend, 15th and 16th Sept.   As some of the stages drive through the parish, drivers and road users are asked to be alert and aware of road closures, and to pay heed to marshalls over the course of the rally.
