Summer Camp.
The local GAA field was a hive of activity last week as one hundred and twenty children took part in a coaching camp organised by the Ruan Club.  They enjoyed a very high standard of coaching, but, more importantly, they had great fun over the week.  On the last day an Ice-Cream Van visited, they had a Dunk Tank, which provided great hilarity and a Bouncing Castle which was a big hit with the children and adults alike.
There were a number of leagues played, with the senior league final proving very exciting. Each child was presented with a certificate by Clare Senior Hurling Star, Peter Duggan. Peter was very generous with his time, signing every jersey and teaching the children skills.
The Club is very grateful to Noel O’Donoghue who made and donated twenty Hurleys for a raffle.
Sean Cullinan was head coach, very ably assisted by a coaching team of  Louise McDonnell,  Aoife Griffin, Barry Heaney, Alice Casey, Rebecca Crowe, Gerry Fox, Robin Mounsey, Cian O’Donoghue, Anne McMahon, Brian Roughan, Noel O’Donoghue, George Pilkington, Alan McDonnell and Shane O’Loughlin, and hard-working Minor Club Secretary, Anne Marie O’Donoghue.

Camogie,
The u14A Camogie final replay will be held in Fr. McNamara Park on this Friday, Aug. 31 at 6.30pm. The girls would be delighted with the support of the community as they take on Truagh/Clonlara in the final.

Under 15 County Hurling.
Darragh McInerney, a member of Ruan GAA Club, played with the Clare u15 hurlers which overcame Tipperary in the All Ireland Arrabawn Championship at the weekend.  Ryan Power, Shane Punch and Jack Lyons are so on the panel.

Mass Times.
The first Mass in the new schedule for Imeall Boirne Cluster will be celebrated in Dysart on Saturday, September 1st at 8pm and will be the Mass of Anniversaries.  Weekend Masses for the rest of the month in this parish will be in Ruan on Saturday evenings at 8pm.
This will be the pattern for the next six months, when it will be reviewed, in conjunction with the other parishes in the Cluster.
