Presentation of Jerseys.
Minor Hurling Club Secretary, Anne-Marie O’Donoghue and Chairperson, Micheal O’Se were presented with a set of jerseys for the boys who play in u10’s and u11’s with Ruan GAA Club recently. The presentation was made by Ciaran O’Connor, Soroya Morcher and Ger Cullinan, representing Ruan Gymkhana Committee. The Club had a very busy summer, playing in Blitzes with other Clare Clubs and enjoying their very successful Summer Camp.

Scouts.
Ruan Scouts, having had a very successful first year, will open three sections this September - Beaver Scouts aged 6 to 8 years, Cub Scouts, aged 9 to 12 years and Scouts, aged twelve to fifteen years.  The group meets on Thursday evenings in Ruan village.  Registration for the new year takes place on Thursday, September 20 at 7pm in Ruan Community Centre.
The Scouts also may be contacted on ruanscouts@gmail.com, where anyone wishing their child to join, or, indeed, anyone wishing to help as a leader may leave details and they will be contacted by the Scouts.

Clothes Collection.
It’s that time of year when people will be putting away lighter summer clothing and taking out the warmer winter clothes.  Toonagh Parents Association is holding a clothes collection on October 4 next and the members are asking that people might keep that date in mind as they go through their wardrobes. The usual clean clothes,  bed linen, towels, belts, bags and shoes will be very welcome,  as the clothes collection brings in much needed funding for various activities in the school during the year.  Drop off times will be published nearer the time.

Camogie.
Four players from the local camogie club, Sinead Hastings,  Aoife Anderson, Kate Forde and Emily Whelan played for Clare in the All Ireland u14 Blitz in Dublin on Saturday last.  They also took part in the parade of the u14 teams on the hallowed pitch of Croke Park  on Sunday, during half time in the Intermediate Final. They were delighted with the opportunity to represent their County over the weekend.

Hospice Coffee Morning.
Toonagh School Parents Association will host a Coffee Morning in Toonagh Hall on Thursday, Sept. 20. from 9.15 am to 11 am.  This is usually a hugely successful and social occasion in the parish, and it isn’t hoped the community will be as generous as they always have been for this worthy cause.
The Coffee Morning will also be held in Ruan Community Centre on the same morning, from 10am to 12 noon.

Recent Death.
The death has taken place of Patrick Cahir, Terenure, Dublin and formerly of Larchill, Ennis, brother of Sean and Frank Cahir, Larchill and the late Michael Cahir of Ballygriffey.
