First Holy Communion.
The children of Toonagh N.S. received their First Holy Communion, which had been postponed from May, on Saturday last in St. Mary’s Church, Ruan, at 11am. Fr. Damian Nolan administered the Sacrament to Jessica Burns, Laura Coffey, Lily Considine, Shay Gleeson, Grace Hurley, Paraic Keane, Dylan Lavan, Amelia McInerney, Phelim O’Brien, Ava McInerney, Sarah O’Leary, Grace O’Rorke, Ava Sanders and Aaron Tuttle. 
Monica Morgan, accompanied by Michael Hennessy sang and the teachers involved were Kate Brosnan and Sean Eustace.
In the afternoon, it was the turn of the children from Ruan N.S. Father Ger  Nash was the Celebrant at that Ceremony, and Fiona Lyons sang, accompanied, again, by Michael Hennessy. 
Ms. Niamh Ni Chonghaile was the teacher  who prepared the children, who were Aaron Quirke, Cillian Twomey, Donnacha Ryan, Graham O’Connor, Sean Callinan, Shane Duson, Sophie White, Alannah Quinn, Clodagh Malone, Grace Forde, Katie Curtis, Katie O’Loughlin, Kayla Pilkington, Lila Feighery and Pippa Lordan.
Despite having been out of school for almost six months, the children were well prepared to celebrate their special day and credit must be given to their parents and teachers in bringing them to this day.

Fitness Class.
On Monday evening, Sept. 14, a circuit training fitness class resumed in Ruan Community Centre.  
To help in adhering to HSE guidelines, anyone wishing to join, is required to telephone 0876104357 to book their place in the class.

Recent Death.
The death has taken place of Kathleen Lordan, Macroom, Co. Cork, mother of Padraig Lordan, Ruan.
