Successful Coffee Morning for Hospice.

This parish joined with parishes all over the country last week in hosting coffee mornings to raise funds for the Hospice Foundation.   The local community came out in force to support its local Hospice in Cahercalla, with people providing homemade baking, biscuits, milk and their time to help out on the day to make it a successful event.   Thanks to all who supported the coffee morning, a total of €940 has been lodged to the Fundraising account of the Hospice, and it is very much appreciated by the organisers.

Camogie.

The camogie season has come to an end for the year and it has been a busy one for the local Camogie Club.  There have been a number of very dedicated people involved throughout the year, training the girls, organising blitzs, matches, transporting girls to and from games and training, washing gear, etc. and their committment is much appreciated.   The u16s played in the semi final last week against Truagh/Clonlara, with Truagh/Clonlara coming out on top, 6-1 to 1-3.  The u14s drew in their game against Whitegate last week in Ruan, each team scoring 3-1.

Hurling.

The u10 hurlers put in a great performance last week in a blitz, winning all of their matches.   U13s had a good win over Ennistymon last week in the Clooney/Quin Tournament.   The popular hurling coach, Paudie Butler, visited Ruan pitch during the week to demonstrate a coaching session at the hurling wall.
