Pastoral Plan – Diocese of Killaloe: After widespread dialogue with Parishioners over the past 2 years a Pastoral Plan was formed. Copies of the Pastoral Plan for the Diocese from 2013 to 2020 are available at the Church door.

SAFEGUARDING AUDIT IN THE DIOCESE OF KILLALOE

The National Audit of Child Safeguarding Practice in this Diocese of Killaloe will take place from 27th to 29th November. As part of the Audit every parish is required to publish this fact in their parish newsletter. The Auditors and the Bishop are inviting any person who may have been affected by abuse within the Church in this Diocese to make contact with the Director of Safeguarding, Cleo Yates on 065 682 8638

TRÓCAIRE: Emergency Collection to support Syria and the Philippines

A Special Collection was due to be taken up at all Masses this weekend to assist Syria. It has been decided that the proceeds of this weekend’s collection will be shared with the Philippines, given the enormous tragedy that has befallen the country.

Ruan And Dysart Resource Group Ltd. held their AGM on Monday last in Ruan Community hall. The outgoing Committee were all re-elected as follows; John O’Donoghue as Chairman and sponsor, Fr. Pat O’Neill as Vice Chairman, Risteard Ui Croinin as Secretary and sponsor, Mary O’Halloran as Recording Secretary, Noel Tierney as Treasurer and John Belle as PRO. Among the topics discussed was the Programme of work for the coming year.

Senior Citizens: The Annual Christmas Party will be held in Morty Kellys on Sunday 8th December

Irish Dancing Classes:  Michelle Enright has started a new term of Irish Dancing classes for children in Toonagh Hall on Friday afternoons 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm. Beginners welcome. 

Dancing for Adults continues in Toonagh Hall Thurs. nights 8.30 pm to 10.30 pm.  All welcome.

Kitchen Sessions in Toonagh Hall, Fri. nights, 7 to 9 pm. All musicians, singers, dancers welcome.

Craft Group - A group will meet in the kitchen in Toonagh Hall on Wed. mornings, 11 to 12 noon to chat and pass on tips on knitting, crochet, and various crafts over a "cuppa"., starting Wed. 20th next. Anyone interested is invited to attend, and any ideas people may have as to what could be included in the sessions as they continue will be welcome.  Further information Rose 0870610212.

Clare Crusaders Run - Darren Kelly ran the Dublin City Marathon in 4 hrs. 15 mins, and to date has raised €180 for Clare Crusaders Clinic in Barefield.  He appreciates the support he received from the community. 

Toonagh Parents Association wishes to thank the community for their generous support of the clothes collection they held recently. 

€700 was raised and will go towards teaching aids in the school.

Local History Group - This group, which looked into the names of townlands and families living in them during their last session, will meet at Morty Kelly's on Wed. nights, starting Wed. 20th Nov. at 8p.m.  All welcome.

North Clare Mental Health Association is hosting a series of talks on Mental Health and Wellness during the month of Nov: Dan Neville T.D. of Suicidology Association with Owen O’Mahony, Clare Suicide Bereavement on 22nd November.  Patrick Ryan, Professor of Psychology UCL and Liam Minogue of the W.R.A.P. Programme on 26th November.  The talks will take place at the Falls Hotel Ennistymon at 8:00 pm each night and Admission is Free

RUAN GAA NEWS:     

Minor Club: The AGM of The Minor Club will take place in Ruan Community Centre on Monday 25th November at 8 30pm. We would encourage all parents or anyone interested in developing hurling in our parish to attend.    Susan Rice
