Thought for the Week

Each day is a brand new opportunity to be Jesus in the World.

(R. Falcon "Better Tomorrows").

MISSION SUNDAY:  The National Day of Prayer for Children takes place on the 11th October.  Organised by the Society for Missionary Children, it gives Irish children a lovely opportunity to help and pray for their little counterparts in developing countries.  Approximately 1,500 schools are taking part in this nationwide initiative and all proceeds go to projects specifically for children.  For further information on The Society for Missionary Children or to make a donation please visit www.wmi.ie.

CAHERCALLA HOSPICE COFFEE MORNING was a huge success in the parish this year, with a total of €1,148 raised from coffee mornings in Ruan Community Centre and Toonagh Hall.   Children from Toonagh School featured on John Cooke's show on Clare FM, with their "Banner Roar" when they came to the hall.  The organisers wish to thank all who contributed to making this the biggest response to the fundraising appeal yet, by baking, helping out on the day and donating to the very worthy cause.

SENIOR CITIZENS COLLECTION: Thank you to all who contributed to the recent collection.  The amount collected was €405.41.  These funds will go towards the annual Christmas Party
