Mission Month:  October is Mission Month.  There are approximately 1,500 Irish born missionaries working in more than 80 countries.  They continue to spread the Gospel through their work, their deep commitment to the people they serve and their Faith.  In essence, they lead by example and have helped to change, for the better, millions of lives all over the globe.  The people in Killaloe Diocese have been urged to support missionaries working in some of the world’s poorest countries by donating during the forthcoming Mission Sunday collection on October 19th.  The theme for World Mission Sunday in Ireland this year 2014 is "That they may have Life”.   As we thank you for your wonderful generosity to the Missions over the years we invite you to please continue to help our young churches to share the gift of faith though your prayer and whatever financial assistance you can.

Thought for the Week

Giving is the secret of a healthy life...

not necessarily money, but whatever one has

of encouragement and sympathy and understanding.

(John D. Rockefeller Jnr.)

Toonagh Hall:  Works are still ongoing in Toonagh Hall and there is a very important meeting in the Hall on next Wed. night 15th Oct., at 8 pm  to discuss the re-opening of the Hall and Sports Complex.  It is vital that those individuals, sports clubs and groups who have used the hall and all its facilities in the past, and wish to use it in the future, attend, as it cannot re-open until everything is in order.

Clothes Collection for Toonagh School: this will take place on next Mon. 13th Oct. Toonagh Hall will be open to receive bags of clothes (old clothes, shoes, belts, bags, curtains, towels, bed linen - not duvets or pillows) from 9 am to 10.30 am, from 1.45 to 3 pm. and 7 to 8 pm. on that evening.  Funds raised from this venture will be used to purchase learning equipment/supplies for the school children.
