World Meeting of Families Diocesan Newsletter: There is a copy of the October Issue of the Newsletter on the notice board. Are you a Family Carer?  Would you like to increase your knowledge, look after your physical and mental health, gain support and meet others in similar situations?  If so, Family Carers Ireland Clare Branch invite you to a Carers in the Home Course commencing 18th Oct. at Clarecare, Harmony Row, Ennis.

The course will run for eight weeks each Wed. night from 7pm – 9pm. and is free to family carers.

Clare Haven Services Insights Programme - A free and confidential weekly programme for women who are or have been in an abusive domestic relationship will commence in Ennis in September.  For further information please contact Clare Haven Services on 065 6842646.  


Christmas Fair:  The Ruan annual Christmas Fair will be held on Sunday 3rd December.  We are looking for donations of trees (standing or fallen) which we will cut up. All donations of fuel/silage/hay etc. will also be gratefully received. Contact Joe on 087 2902552 or Senan on 086 4475400

Mission Month of October 2017:  Next Sunday, Pope Francis invites all Catholics to contribute to a special collection that supports churches, hospitals, schools, and vocations in countries where the church is new. 

We invite your prayers for all those who are involved in any ways as Missionaries.  

We also invite you to be as generous as you can to this important work. 


Imeall Bóirne Cluster Mission:  The Cluster Mission will take place from 22nd to 26th October 2017. It will be based in Ruan, with Mission Ceremonies at 8:00 pm every night; there will be morning masses in all parishes. Please make a note of this and encourage family and friends to attend."


Readers and Eucharistic Ministers:  Lists of Readers and Eucharistic Ministers are being prepared for the coming year.   We would welcome and encourage more people, both young and older to have an active part in the celebration of the Eucharist as readers or Ministers of the Eucharist. Please give your details to Mary O’Halloran or Mary O’Donnell in Ruan or to Rose Foudy or Monica Tierney in Dysart, or contact any member or the Parish Pastoral Council or Fr. Pat

Dublin City Marathon: Shane O’Loughlin and Aidan Lawton are running the Dublin City Marathon in aid of the Clare Crusaders Clinic.

All donations would be greatly appreciated

Clare Parkinson's Support:  Unfortunately 1 in every 500 people in Ireland is affected by Parkinson's disease of which 1 in every 20 diagnosed is under 40 years of age ...... and regretfully numbers are increasing.  It’s important therefore for sufferers and their families to know that there is a local Group in Clare who can offer support, answer questions and relate their experiences. 

Next meeting will be on Friday 27th October at Carrigoran Health and Wellness Centre, Newmarket on Fergus.

Grants are available for personal alarms and installation for persons aged 65 years and older through Pobal: The applicant is only responsible for payment of the annual monitoring charge.   Please phone Family Carers Ireland Ennis 065 6866515.
