Distribution of Holy Communion in Ruan Church:  It has been decided that the Priest will give out Communion at the Altar and the Eucharist Minister will stand at the back of the Church.  People will either go to the Priest at the front or go to the back of the church to the Eucharist Minister

NEXT BAPTISM COURSE Crusheen on Saturday 16th November from 11.00 am to 12 Noon

Parish Graveyard:  There will be a meeting in the Community Centre in Ruan on Wednesday 13th November at 8:00 pm to discuss the acquisition of a new Parish Graveyard.  This meeting is of importance to everyone as the onus is on the Community to provide a graveyard.

Litter Pick:  The last litter pick until next spring will take place in Ruan on Saturday morning 2nd November at 11 a.m.  All help would be greatly appreciated.  This is a great way to get children interested and aware of their environment so all families welcome.   Please bring gloves – bags will be provided.

Burren Gathering Retreat: “A Time for Remembering” Sat 2nd Nov 10:30 to 5 pm followed by Mass at 5 pm. Venue: Burren Life Balance, Corofin. Facilitated by Mary Lillis RSM and Noirin Long RSM. Remembering our loved ones, Honouring our Ancestors. During the day there will be time for reflection, ritual and visiting an ancient Burren site. Cost €35 incl Lunch/Refreshments. Booking required. Clare Crusaders Fundraiser: Darren Kelly, Beechgrove, Toonagh, is taking part in the Dublin City Marathon on Bank Holiday Monday, to raise funds for the Clare Crusaders Clinic in Barefield, which provides services to children with special needs.  He would welcome any support from the local community in his fundraising efforts. The Kitchen Session is taking a break for Halloween, and will return on Fri. Nov. 8th from 7 to 9 pm, when all musicians, singers and dancers are welcome.  Adm. €1.

Adult Dancing continues in Toonagh Hall Thurs. nights from 8:30 to 10:30 pm. Learn the waltz, jive, quickstep and the Caledonian, Plain and Connemara sets, with Maggie Hutton. All welcome. Adm. €5.

North Clare Mental Health Association is hosting a series of talks on Mental Health and Wellness during the month of Nov.:Dr John Hillary, Consultant Psychiatrist on the 6th November.  Francis Black (Singer) and founder of R.I.S.E. Foundation with Gerry Murphy of Bushy Pk Treatment Centre on 13th November.  Dan Neville T.D. of Suicidology Association with Owen O’Mahony, Clare Suicide Bereavement on 22nd November.  Patrick Ryan, Professor of Psychology UCL and Liam Minogue of the W.R.A.P. Programme on 26thNovember.  The talks will take place at the Falls Hotel Ennistymon at 8:00 pm each night and Admission is Free

Halloween In the Unique Setting of Dysert O’Dea Castle Corofin. On Thurs 31st Oct we are having an evening of Spooky Story Telling, Traditional Games and plenty of fun and laughter at Dysert O’Dea Castle Corofin. Starting at 6 pm. CAMOGIE NEWS

Ruan played Ballyea in the final of the U13C Shield in Crusheen on Sun. last.   Despite getting off to a good start, the Ruan girls finally succumbed to a stronger Ballyea team, with a scoreline of 2-2 to 4-9 at the final whistle.  A great effort was put into the game by all the Ruan Team who fought hard against a stronger and physical team from Ballyea.  The team is Siofra Ni Lachtnain, Lily O'Connor, Michelle Power, Leah Morgan (Captain), Aoife Corey, Aoife Meere, Sarah O'Donoghue, Shannon O'Donovan, Sarah Gilmore, Roisin Whynne, Amy O'Donoghue, Maria Jones, Eve O'Connor, Aisling Murray, Chloe Callinan Queally, Ivana O'Halloran, Roise Ni Lachtnain and Kate O'Halloran.
