PARISH COUNCIL MEETING on Tuesday night 30th Oct in the Parochial House at 8.00 pm.

CLOTHES COLLECTION FOR TOONAGH PARENTS ASSOCIATION: There will be a new and used clothes collection on Wed. 7th Nov. next at Toonagh Hall, with the hall open at 9.15am to 2 pm and from 6.30 to 7.30.m when people can drop off bags of clothes.  People might get a chance to do a clean-out over the Halloween break. Mens, womens, childrens clothes, shoes, belts, bags, ties and household textiles (no pillows, no duvets) will be very welcome. This is a fundraiser for the Parents Association.

PILATES: A new course of Pilates with Tracy Guilfoyle will start on Thurs. Nov. 8th next, from 8.15 to 9.15p.m.  6 weeks €45.  Further details from Tracy at 0860636837.

KITCHEN SESSIONS:The next Kitchen Session will be on Fri. 9th Nov. next, after a Halloween break.

CRAFTS CLASS:The next Crafts Class  in Toonagh Hall will be on Wed. 7th Nov. next, after the break at Halloween.

RUAN & DYSART RESOURCE GROUP LTD: The AGM of the Ruan and Dysart Resource Group took place recently at Ruan community hall. It was a successful evening and the appointed officers were as follows; John O’ Donoghue Chairman, Fr Pat O’ Neill Vice Chairman, Risteard Ui Croinin Secretary, Mary O’ Halloran Recording Secretary, Noel Tierney Treasurer and John Bell PRO. All sponsors were pleased with the outcomes and results of the scheme in the past 12 months and look forward to working together again.

CAMOGIE NEWS:Team Spirit Comeback after 7 years lapse!   Ruan camogie club Junior Team ladies snatched a well-earned point  against Feakle to earn a replay  In the Junior B Championship Final replay on Saturday 19th October in Eire Og the ladies put on a tremendous display and led all the way coming out on top on a score line of 5-7 to Feakle 2-3. Great credit due to all the team members and the commitement of the Management of John Punch, Martin Moroney and Kevin O Regan during the last 12 months. The club acknowledges the great support of the parish at all the games. The club extends congratulations to our fellow hurlers in victory over Crusheen in the Intermediate hurling Championship Final on Sunday 20th October.    Mary Hickey O’Brien


HAIL THE HURLING HEROES. Ruan bridged a thirty four year gap when they captured the Inter.Championship in sunny Sixmilebridge on Sunday last.. It was an overdue and fitting reward for players and management, with a number of players getting their first adult championship medal after a decade of hurling. Ruan now represent Clare as they face Tipp champions Silvermines at 1pm this Sunday in Sixmilebridge. 

A full colour souvenir programme prepared by Ruan GAA is available for €2. We wish the newly crowned champions every success in their Munster campaign. A man of the match award will be kindly sponsored by Vincent O Halloran  Agricultural Contractor,and Ciaran and Loretta O’ Connor of Purcells. 

Congrats also to our super camogie team, who made it a memorable weekend for our parish.
