Toonagh Hall and Sports Complex.
Toonagh Hall and Sports Complex Committee is holding its A.G.M. in Toonagh Hall on this Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, at 8.30pm.  As the present members of the Committee are stepping down, it is imperative that a new committee is elected, as the community depends on the facility,  which is used by the schoolchildren of Toonagh School, Toonagh Handball Club, the local G.A.A. Club, Crafts group, children’s dancing classes, Zumba dance classes and meetings of various groups, remaining open. All interested are invited to attend.

Local Scouts.
Ruan Scouts began its second year in existence with an outing to Fosset’s Circus in September last.  Thirty Beavers, twenty nine Cubs and a new Scouts section, with ten Scouts now make up the numbers in the local group.
The first few months of this term have been busy and the committed volunteer leaders run weekly meetings, providing fun-filled activities for the children where the aim is to achieve ‘Adventure Skills Badges’.
At Halloween the three sections joined up for Bonfire night, with a spooky treasure hunt, building campfires and enjoying a night hike. On the weeks leading up to Christmas the children worked on earning their ‘Air Badges’. Beavers visited Lufthansa and Shannon Air Adventure Centre and the Cubs visited Galway Airport. Scouts enjoyed caving in the Burren Outdoor Activity Centre, and all these outings were hugely enjoyed by all who travelled.
The Scouts have already resumed for the new year, the Cubs were back on Jan. 24, and the Beavers will be back on Feb.7.
Church gate collections will be held to support the Scouts on this Sat. Feb. 2 before 8.00pm Mass in Dysart and on next Sat. Feb. 9 before 8.00pm Mass and the support of the community will be much appreciated.
