Ruan N.S. Board of Management.



The Board of Management for Ruan N.S. is as follows:

Teacher’s Nominee - Niamh Ní Chonghaile

Community Nominees – Gai Hardy & Mortimer O’Sullivan

Parents’ Nominees – Keith Kelly & Olivia O’Toole

Parents wishing to enrol a child for this coming September may call to the school for application form or telephone the school at 6037301.

February Fitness.

A walking/running group has been set up in Ruan where all levels of fitness, and none, are welcome. It meets in the local hurling field, under lights, on Tue. & Thurs. evenings at 7.20pm. Loreto @ 0872855680 has all the details.

Youth Club.

A meeting will be held in Toonagh Hall & Sports Complex  tomorrow, Fri. 12th Feb., at 8pm, to discuss the possibility of getting a Youth Club up and running in the parish.  A speaker from Clare Youth Services will attend in the night to give information on what it entails. Youth Clubs cater for young people from 1st year through to Leaving Cert. Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer or youth club leader, and parents/guardians interested in getting their children involved are invited.

Community Games Art.

Aoibheann Roughan of Fountain, a pupil at Toonagh N.S. scooped a gold medal at the county final of the Community Games, Art competition in Ennis on Sat. last, and will now represent the County at the All Ireland Finals in Athlone next August.

Jack Browne came 3rd in the u8 section,  Ryan Bliss came 2nd and his brother, Shane, came 3rd in the u8 section .

Fitness 4Fun.

Fitness 4 Fun exercise classes for men and women continue in Ruan Community Centre on Wednesdays from 1.15 to 2.15pm. John Conroy, who runs the class, is an experienced and qualified fitness coach for older adult fitness. People with arthritis, heart disease or diabetes benefit from regular physical activity, and exercise can also help people with blood pressure, balance problems or difficulty with walking. All are welcome to these classes which are proving very popular with those attending.

Recent Death.

The death has taken place of Brid Cahill, Caherbulane, Corofin, mother of Anne Foley, Adroon, Ruan.
