The Tractor & Vintage Car Run for Toonagh Hall & Sports Complex was very well supported last Sun. 80 participated, driving tractors, vintage cars and motorbikes. The Committee worked tirelessly to make this a fun event and it wishes to thank the following: Tom, Noel & Eoin Barry for the use of their field and the work they did on hedges, etc., Jimmy Guinnane for bread, John Burke who provided the milk, Meere's Pork Products, Quin, all who brought home baking and helped out in the kitchen;  Brian Coffey who manned the BBQ;  Eugene Casey for his sheep in 'Guess the Weight';  Keven Moloney for his tractor balancing machine; Total Vision who provided the big screen for the big match; members of the Handball Club who ran fun events and helped with stewarding;  those who collected registration and organised music and dancing and Toonagh School for allowing parking in its grounds.

It was a very enjoyable day out for all the family. The only 'farmerette' to finish the run was Clara Morgan from Dysart. Joint winners of tractor balancing were Patrick O'Gorman and Ollie Callinan.  'Guess the no. of sweets' was won by Darragh McDonagh.  'Guess the Weight of the Sheep' was won jointly by Pakie Keane and Barry Whelan and 'Peg the clothes on the line' was won by Mary McGuane.

Over €3,000 was raised which will be used for ongoing development in the Hall & Sports Complex.

Thanks from Claire. Claire McDonnell from Dysart, a student nurse, travelled to Tanzania during the summer to work with people in need in a hospital in the bush.  This local community very generously supported her when she ran events to raise funds for this trip and Claire will have pictures on display in both churches from her time there to thank the community and show how the money was spent. It is also going towards a hospital being built in Sinamajiro & will also help buy equipment to promote health care.
